1 of 5 babies worldwide not immunized vs deadly diseases-WHO

One of out five infants worldwide, or some 22 million young children, lack immunization from diseases such as polio, diphtheria, measles, pneumonia, and tetanus, among others. This was reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the United Nations Global Vaccine Summit held last 25 April 2013 in Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), thru DOST-MIMAROPA Regional Director Dr. Josefina P. Abilay and Assistant Secretary Raymund E. Liboro, concurrent director of the DOST’s Science and Technology Information Institute (STII), inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with officials of Oriental Mindoro for the Hydromet Project, a component of Project NOAH  or Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards.

Epson says 12th year as No. 1 projector

According to the latest results for 2012 released by projector market research firm Futuresource Consulting, Epson achieved a record 12th year in a row as the world’s number 1 projector brand.

The company grew from a 22.9% market share in 2011 to hit its highest-ever market share of 26.2% for 2012; meaning that over one in four projectors sold in the past year was an Epson. Sales of Epson projectors in 2012 were so strong that they were greater than the combined sales volumes of the second, third and fourth ranked projector brands.
