Epson says 12th year as No. 1 projector

According to the latest results for 2012 released by projector market research firm Futuresource Consulting, Epson achieved a record 12th year in a row as the world’s number 1 projector brand.

The company grew from a 22.9% market share in 2011 to hit its highest-ever market share of 26.2% for 2012; meaning that over one in four projectors sold in the past year was an Epson. Sales of Epson projectors in 2012 were so strong that they were greater than the combined sales volumes of the second, third and fourth ranked projector brands.

BEFORE the onset of the rainy season, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) intensifies its dengue preventive measures by providing online information on dengue cases per community to serve as alert mechanism to concerned government offices and personnel.
In the pipeline is a dengue alert website that will enable public health practitioners to check out high-risk areas for dengue outbreaks and come up with early intervention measures.

Science Explorer sails, wows Mindoreños

For the first time in its four-year run, the Science Explorer, the country’s first mobile science learning facility crossed the sea to reach Oriental Mindoro and bring its signature ‘cool science learning experience’ to students and young indigenous people.

Aiming to widen its impact, the Science Education Institute’s (SEI) Science Explorer traveled more than 10 hours to reach the municipality of Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro where 540 young Mindoreños from 15 public elementary and high schools got a dose of exciting hands-on learning.
