DOTC TO RENOVATE LTO OFFICES
NATIONWIDE
MANILA, PHL – The Department
of Transportation and Communications and LTO are embarking on a P111-million
project that will renovate 46 LTO regional and district offices as well as
licensing centers nationwide.
In an ITB published Wednesday, the DOTC
said the project aims to raise their standards of LTO offices to levels
suitable for servicing the public.
“The project is in fulfillment of the
commitment of the Government to provide Convenient, Affordable, Reliable,
Efficient, and Safe transport services,” the ITB read.
A total of P4 million of the
allocation will go to the planned extension of the Letas Building in LTO
Central Office in East Avenue, Quezon City.
About P8.8 million will go to various
renovation projects in Region 1, including the repair of the LTO Regional
Office in La Union; the waiting area, lecture, and examination room of the
Dagupan District Office; the records room of the Laoag District Office; and the
respective continuation of perimeter fences in the Batac District Office and
Vigan District Office.
Some P9.9 million will be spent for
the repair and improvement buildings in Region 2, such as the Regional Office
in Tuguegarao, as well as the district offices in Cabarroguis, Tuguegarao,
Roxas, San Isidro, Ilagan, and Aparri.
In the LTO Regional Office in San
Fernando, Pampanga, P1.5 million will be spent for the backfilling and
perimeter fence construction there; while another P5 million is set aside for
the renovation of the San Pablo district and Laguna Licensing Office.

In Region 5, a total of P39M was
allocated for building improvement in the LTO Regional Office in Legaspi, and
the district offices in Masbate, Naga, Daet, Iriga, Sorsogon, Legaspi, Tabaco,
Ragay, and Catanduanes.
The LTO Regional Office in Iloilo and
the District Offices in Bacolod, Cadiz, San Jose, Calinog, Iloilo will also
undergo building renovations costing a total of P6.5 million.
In Region 7, P4 million will be spent
to renovate the impounding, storage, and lecture building as well as to
complete the perimeter fence of the LTO Siquijor District Office. A total of P2
million apiece will also go to the repair and renovation of the Bais and Danao
District Offices.
In Region 8, about P18.5 million will
go to the repair and rehabilitation of LTO Tacloban, Borongan, Catarman,
Calbayog, Catbalogan, Naval, Ormoc, Polompon, and San Juan District Offices.
Another P2 million will be spent for the repair and expansion of the LTO Dipolog
District Office in Region 9.
For NCR, the LTO Manila North
District Office will undergo renovation of building, and replacement of roof,
trusses, gutters and ceiling, costing about P2 million. Some P2 million will
also be used for the building renovation, enclosure of supply room, and
improvement of 2nd Floor examination room of the LTO Pasay City Licensing
Center.
About P2 million each will go to
Quezon City Licensing Center and Quezon City District Office for their
respective the improvements of building and construction of records room.
