Beyond lip service, taking care of our environment should materialize in products and technologiesthat people can actually use. Check out locally-made and available greentechnologies that help mitigate damage to the environment at the NationalScience and Technology Week (NSTW) exhibit on July 10-14, 2012 at the SMXConvention Center, SM Mall of Asia.
The exhibit willfeature products such as a new technology in solar thermal cooling thatsignificantly lowers electric consumption by harnessing the sun’s heat to producethe energy needed the cooling process of a typical air conditioner. Otherenvironment-friendly technologies to be showcased in the exhibit are electroniccars and LED lighting and signaling devices and renewable energy products.
Information andcommunications technology-based products and services are also included in theexhibit. Beneficiaries of OpenTechnology Business Incubation (Open TBI) of DOST-Technology Resource Center(DOST-TRC) and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority will demonstrate theirproducts and services including automated payroll systems, human resourceinformation systems among others. OpenTBI is a program of DOST-TRC that aims to encourage the growth of informationtechnology-based start-up companies.
The exhibit will alsofeature the latest technologies and innovations in agriculture, foodprocessing, electronics, and other industries. Exhibitors are from private, government, and academic sectors.
The exhibit, one ofthe highlights of the NSTW celebration, serves as an effective marketing andpromotion strategy for locally developed products and technologies from DOSTand private inventors and companies. Italso showcases the latest advances in science and technology in the country.
The National Science and Technology Week is an annualcelebration that highlights the significant contributions of science andtechnology to national development
