PTC CEO Re-elected as Vice-Chairman of ICS

PHILIPPINE Transmarine Carriers (PTC) Inc. Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gerardo A. Borromeo was re-elected as Vice-Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) during its Annual General Membership Meeting held recently at Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia.


With his re-election, Mr. Borromeo will continue his term until 2013 supporting newly-elected ICS Chairman Masamichi Morooka, along with three other Vice Chairmen namely Captain Dirk Fry of Cyprus, Frank Leonhardt of Germany and Trygve Seglem of Norway.

The ICS has expressed keen support for the recent efforts by the Philippine Government through Executive Order #75, creating a single Central Maritime Administration under the Department of Transportation and Communication, to be carried out through the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).  The Association likewise commits to work closely and continuously with the Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA) to help shape the future direction of the Philippine maritime industry.
